Mario Sergio Cortella is a Brazilian philosopher, writer, educator, and speaker most known for popularizing and creating public venues for philosophical questions related that have relevance to Brazilian contemporary society.
He holds a degree in Philosophy and a Master's and Doctorate in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, where he began teaching in 1977 in the school's Department of Education and in the Department of Theology and Sciences of Religion
He has been a prominent educator in Brazil for more than 35 years.
He was secretary of education for the city of São Paulo city, 1991-1992. He is professor of theological philosophy at PUC-SP.
He has also held the teaching positions of Visiting professor at Fundação Dom Cabral (since 1997) and at GVpec at FGV-SP (between 1997 and 2009).
He is a commentator and columnist on radio and television programs, digital media, and social networks with more than 10 million followers. He is also the author of 46 books published in Brazil and abroad.
