Brian Krzanich, succeeded in efforts to diversify his company as well as the tech industry. In 2015, he announced a $300 million Diversity in Technology initiative to increase representation of women and people of color in tech.
Under his leadership, Intel succeeded in diversifying its workforce by many metrics. In 2015, Intel hired more women (up 43%) and people from underrepresented communities (31%). Overall that year, diverse hiring increased from 40 to 43.1%.
CEO, Amazon
Jeff Bezos's company has been accused by more than 550 Amazon employees for its “underlying culture of systemic discrimination, harassment, bullying, and bias against women and under-represented groups." In particular, they allege that there are pay gaps due to racial and gender discrimination, as well as discriminatory practices in promotions.
Amazon also faces lawsuits claiming it mistreated workers in its handling of the coronavirus pandemic at its facilities.
